Mount Vernon
'I will not give up the hope of seeing you at Mount Vernon'
My fellow history lover,

We’re pleased to announce that George Washington’s Mount Vernon is moving into Level II of reopening. Now you can once again enjoy access to the Mansion as the first floor opens to tours.

In addition to touring the Mansion’s first floor, guests can visit our museum exhibits, explore the gardens and grounds, and interact with Mount Vernon characters. Photo cruises on the Potomac River are available Friday - Sunday.

Members — reserve free timed-tickets for you and your guests today.

Friends — purchase your tickets now!
We encourage you to buy your admission tickets online and reserve your Mansion tour time in advance. To maintain social distancing, Mansion tours are limited in capacity and are likely to sell out in advance.

To ensure your safety and comfort, we’re continuing to adhere to our safety protocols, including promoting social distancing, providing hand sanitizers throughout the estate, placing shield barriers in transactional spaces, and encouraging all guests to wear face coverings—all in your best interest.

Thank you for your faithful support of Mount Vernon. Together we preserve Washington’s legacy, restore his estate, and educate hungry minds about the creation of our democracy.

My very best regards,
Doug Bradburn, Ph.D.
President and CEO

EGMONT Institute: Extremist Offender Management in Belgium

Extremist Offender Management in Belgium By Thomas Renard (27 July 2020)  In Other publications EU strategy and foreign policy, Middle-East / North Africa, Terrorism The presence of terrorist convicts in prison is not a new phenomenon in Belgium. However, radicalisation or recruitment was less visible, or at least less observed until it became a policy priority to monitor violent extremists in prison in 2015. This chapter, which is part of a broader report, analyses the specific policies and tools that have been developed in Belgium to address the challenge of radicalisation in prison, and the rehabilitation of terrorist offenders after their release. This chapter (view the PDF below) was published as part of the report “Extremist Offender Management in Europe: Country Reports” published by ICSR, and available here .
