GEORGE WASHINGTON'S MOUNT VERNON: Mount Vernon is reopening!

Find out how you can be among our first visitors

I want you to be one of the first to hear the great news: George Washington’s Mount Vernon is opening to the general public on June 21. This marks the beginning of Level I, in which we welcome visitors back to the estate.

While the Mansion and certain areas won’t be accessible during this initial phase, you can enjoy all the outdoor spaces, including the east lawn, historic gardens, 18th-century outbuildings, Washington’s Tomb, and the Pioneer Farm.

Plus, the Mount Vernon Inn food truck will be available on the 12-acre field, ensuring food and beverages are made available to you while still practicing proper social distancing.

You can begin purchasing tickets now!

If you’d like to visit Mount Vernon sooner, become a member today. As a member, you can enjoy exclusive benefits such as:
  • Members-only opening day of June 20
  • Exclusive entry to the estate for 1 day before we open to the general public
  • Reservation-free access for our new grounds pass
  • Priority admission that whisks you to the front of the line
  • Special members-only hours (stay tuned for more details)
We’re committed to keeping guests, staff, and volunteers safe, so we’re temporarily limiting the number of visitors on the grounds.

We hope to see you soon.

My very best regards,
Doug Bradburn, Ph.D.
President and CEO
