Dr. Jörg Kinzig, Director of the Institute of Criminology, University of Tübingen, discusses his paper The Acquittal (After Pretrial Detention)—a Rare but Fascinating Phenomenon of the Criminal Justice System” He explores why some people, who are strongly suspected of having committed a crime, are eventually acquitted, and whether system and policy changes may be necessary for Germany.
