100 Resilient Cities Network

Overview

The Rockefeller Foundation is a leader in developing the field of resilience to help cities prepare for and thrive amid physical, social and economic uncertainties. Since 2013, 100 Resilient Cities has launched more than 80 Resilience Strategies, more than 4,000 actions and initiatives, and leveraged $25 billion in external funding to implement those efforts. The Rockefeller Foundation will continue collaborating with the 100RC global Network of cities, CROs, and a small group of former 100RC senior staff to plan for a future of continued collaboration and information sharing amongst cities looking to advance resilience solutions that improve the lives of poor and vulnerable people in their communities.

The History of the Slave Memorial The Slave Memorial at Mount Vernon marks the site where both free and enslaved people were buried in the 18th and 19th centuries, without permanent identifying markers. The Memorial was designed by students attending the architectural school at Howard University. It was dedicated and opened to the public on September 21, 1983. Slavery at Mount Vernon Mount Vernon was the home of George Washington. It was also home to hundreds of enslaved men, women, and children who lived here under Washington’s control. These could create the links between the EU’s neighbours that previous partnership agreements have failed to establish. They should include political and security dimensions for states to feel connected to the EU in a political sense.
