The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies invites you to the RuBase Design Session 2019, on the 30th of October in The Hague.

The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies (HCSS) and Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) are organizing dual Design Sessions in both Kyiv and The Hague on the future of Russian international behavior. The session in The Hague will take place at Leiden University College from 1 pm to 5 pm on October 30. The venue is located 150 meters away from The Hague Central Station. The event will be followed by drinks and networking at the location.
US Gen. Philip M. Breedlove (USAF, Ret.), former Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO and Commander of U.S. European Command will open and conclude the event. The afternoon itself will consist of ‘open’ sessions in which participants will interact with each other in fluid groups on different focus areas that will try to ‘design’ actionable policy options for dealing with alternative future scenarios for Russia. These options can be implemented at various levels of agency: our governments, but also our companies, NGOs, and other groups and individuals.
We are opening up registration for the event and are extending this invitation to our audience. Please RSVP through this link by Sunday the 29th of OctoberMore information will be sent to registered participants shortly before the event. For any questions, please email us at events@hcss.nl.

EGMONT Institute: Use Connectivity to Strengthen Multilateral Cooperation in the EU’s Neighbourhood

Use Connectivity to Strengthen Multilateral Cooperation in the EU’s Neighbourhood By  Sven Biscop   (15 September 2020)   In   Commentaries Asia-Pacific ,   EU and strategic partners ,   EU strategy and foreign policy ,   European defence / NATO To strengthen multilateralism in their own neighbourhood, Germany and the EU should pursue connectivity strategies with their Eastern and Southern neighbours. These could create the links between the EU’s neighbours that  previous partnership agreements have failed to establish. They should include political and security dimensions for states to feel connected to  the EU in a political sense.
