Trottinettes électriques, monoroues, gyropodes, hoverboards : un usage désormais encadré

Trottinettes électriques, monoroues, gyropodes, hoverboards... Avec la publication d'un décret au Journal officiel du 25 octobre 2019, l'usage des engins de déplacement personnels (EDP) motorisés est désormais encadré.
Selon la nouvelle réglementation qui est d'application immédiate, les conducteurs d'EDP motorisés doivent :
  • être âgés d'au moins 12 ans ;
  • ne pas transporter un autre passager ;
  • ne pas circuler sur le trottoir (sauf si les maires l'autorisent) ;
  • ne pas dépasser la vitesse maximale autorisée de 25 km/h.
En agglomération, ils doivent circuler sur les pistes et bandes cyclables lorsqu'il y en a (à défaut, ils peuvent circuler sur les routes où la vitesse maximale autorisée est inférieure ou égale à 50 km/h mais aussi sur les aires piétonnes à condition de circuler à une allure modérée et de ne pas gêner les piétons).
De nuit (ou de jour par visibilité insuffisante), et même en agglomération, il faut désormais porter un vêtement ou équipement rétro-réfléchissant (gilet, brassard...).
Quant au stationnement sur un trottoir, il n'est possible que si les EDP ne gênent pas la circulation des piétons (le maire pouvant néanmoins décider de l'interdire).
  À savoir : À partir du 1er juillet 2020, les EDP devront également être équipés de feux avant et arrière, de dispositifs rétro-réfléchissants, de frein et d'un avertisseur sonore.
